Blackcurrant Cordial

Author/Submitted by: from Edible Gifts by Claire Clifton and Martina Nicolls., Typed by Tiffany Hall-Graham.
Servings: 0
Categories: Alcoholic Beverages / Brandy / Liqueur / Vodka

Ingredients:
2  ounces  fresh blackcurrant juice
1    1/2-inch stick of cinnamon
1  ounce  Sugar, (up to 2 ounces), to taste
    Few scented geranium leaves
12  ounces  Spanish brandy or vodka

Directions:
Place the juice, cinnamon, sugar and geranium leaves in a suitable bottle. Fill up with brandy or vodka. Cap firmly and shake well. Leave in a warm place for a few days to dissolve the sugar and then keep in a cool place for a month before straining through muslin or flannel into clean bottles.

The authors say that this cordial is best served chilled or mixed with a crisp white wine. It can also be heated and served as a sauce over cream cheese or ice cream.
