Coffee Liqueur (Bourbon)

Combine sugar, coffee, and 2 cups of boiling water. Stir until all is dissolved (continue heating, if necessary). Pour into 1/2 gal bottle;
e.g., empty liquor bottle. Cut up vanilla bean and add to bottle. Pour in bourbon and swirl to mix. Age for two months, it continues to
improve with time.
