Hot Buttered Cider (Glorious Liqueurs)

Apple cider, preferably freshly pressed
Light corn syrup
Heat over a moderately low flame until the cider is hot and the butter is melted. Remove from the heat.
While the cider is heating, pour one ounce of liqueur into each of 6 mugs or meatproof glasses. Pour the hot cider into the mugs and serve at once.
In a large saucepan, combine the cider, corn syrup, butter, cinnamon sticks, cloves and lemon slices.
