Dry yeast 1

-hot water 1/2

-warm water 4

Root beer extract Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Dissolve sugar in 1 quart hot water mix together dissolved yeast, sugar and root beer extract in a gallon jar.
Fill jar with warm water and stir until all ingredients are well combined.

One visitor wanted me to note the following: "As a chemist, I thought I should let you know that your root beer, Finnish Simi, and ginger beer recipes, while non-alcoholic in the sense that you have not added any alcohol, really are quite potent with alcohol. You see, those innocuous little yeast beasties you added are busy turning the sugar into alcohol. It's all quite natural, but it isn't non-alcoholic by any means."
