White corn syrup
Whiskey or Brandy
Cook: 1 cup sugar, 8 tbsp. white corn syrup, 4 tbsp. water. Boil till an 8 inch thread hangs from the spoon. Slowly beat into the egg whites. Add one fourth cup powdered sugar and 2 jiggers white rum. Add egg yolks and beat some more. Now mix and fold together.
Serve in heated coffee mugs. Put in 1-2 ounces whiskey or brandy into cup. Fill one half batter and run hot water down the side of the cup until full. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Separate 4 eggs. Beat the hell out of the yolks and whites. You cannot whip them too dry.
