Firmly packed light brown sugar 3

Powdered sugar,
sifted

Directions: 1.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 9x13" pan. (I use a Bundt pan.) Mix sugar and oil in bowl; add eggs and vanilla; blend well. Combine soda, salt, flour and cinnamon; add to mixture and beat well. Add apples and nuts and blend just until evenly spread through batter. Bake 1 hour, or until tested done. Pour Brown Sugar Glaze (see below) over it or serve with Hot Cararmel Sauce.

Brown Sugar Glaze: Melt butter in heavy small saucepan over low heat. Add brown sugar and cook until bubbly, swirling pan occasionally, about 30 seconds. Add milk and cook 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and vanilla; stir until smooth. Use immediately. Makes about 1/3 cup.
