Alyce's Apple Pie

Ingredients:
165  g  flour
1  tsp  salt
100  g  cold butter
55  ml  ice water
6  large  apples (granny smith or a tart apple)
2  tsp  cinnamon
1/2  tsp  vanilla extract
50  g  brown sugar
25  g  butter in bits
30  ml  milk

Directions:
1. Place all ingredients except ice water in food processor, slicing the butter into 7 or 8 pieces first. Process it until the mixture has the consistency of a coarse meal (about 10 seconds) then add the ice water in a steady stream. Stop the food processor when the dough forms into a ball. .SH "Filling:" 1. Peel, core and slice apples into a large mixing bowl. Mix in the cinnamon, vanilla and brown sugar coating the apples thoroughly. 2. Roll the pie crust out and place in a pie pan. Spoon the apple mixture into the pie crust and put bits of butter around the apples. Cover with pie crust and seal the edges with a fork and prick the top of the pie crust. Brush with the milk. 3. Place in 180 C oven until pie crust is browned (about 30 minutes). Difficulty : moderate. Precision : measure ingredients.
