Sift flour with confectioner's sugar 3 times. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar, salt, vanilla and almond extract until soft peaks form. Beat in sugar, 2 T at a time. Continue until meringue holds stiff peaks. Sift 1/4 of flour mixture over whites. Fold in lightly with up-and-down motion, turning the bowl. Fold in remaining flour mixture by fourths. Bake in ungreased 10" tube pan at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
