NOTES : We have many apple trees on our property. Bill takes great pride
in them. I especially like the Golden Delicious. Our previous rabbit,
Scooter, used to like a certain apple that I think was mealy and dry. He
was so fussy and spoiled that he would wrinkle his nose at other apples.
As Bill would say, "He wasn't fond of them." I have many, many apple
recipes, but of course, there is apple pie. My mom makes the pies in our
family. The crust is my weakness. The crust is her strength. She is
known for her flaky crusts. Two of the surgeons I work with, Dr. Samuel
and Dr. Medved, are in competition for one of her pies. She once said she
would have an all day seminar, and she wouldn't let me go until I could
make a pie crust from scratch. I think she would give up on me. Thank
goodness I live in a day of Pillsbury Pie Crusts so I can make my Bill an
apple pie with our fresh apples.
