Cherry-pecan Shortbread Bars

margarine or butter,
finely chopped pecans
semisweet chocolate chips
1. Mix flour, sugar, margarine and pecans until crumbly. Press mixture in
bottom of ungreased square dish, 8 X 8 X 2 inches.
2. Microwave uncovered on high 4 to 5 minutes, rotating dish 1/4 turn
after 2 minutes, until slightly puffed and set.
3. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over hot layer; let stand uncovered 3
to 4 minutes or until chips are shiny. Carefully spread to cover; cool
about 30 minutes or until chocolate is slightly set. Spread preserves over
chocolate. Cut into about 1-3/4 X 1-1/4-inch bars. 24 BARS; 105 CALORIES
