Categories: Cakes / Chocolate / Desserts

2  tablespoons  Shortening
1  cup  Flour

1/2  teaspoon  Salt
3/4  cup  Sugar
2  teaspoons  Baking powder
1/2  can  Milnot
1  teaspoon  Vanilla
1/2  cup  Chopped nuts
3  tablespoons  Cocoa
1/2  cup  Sugar
1/2  cup  Brown sugar
1  cup  Cold water

Directions:
Melt shortening with chocolate. Then sift flour, salt, sugar, baking powder and then add milk, vanilla and nuts. Fold in chocolate mixture. Put in 6 inch loaf pan. Combine cocoa, white sugar and brown sugar and shake over the cake. Then cover the cake with cold water and bake about 1 hour at 325 degrees. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream.

About Milnot: This is easier to find in Great Britain than in the United States. Substitutes: evaporated milk (This doesn't whip as well as milnot. To compensate for this, make sure the milk, beaters, and bowl are all very cold before whipping.) For more info, go to http://www.milnot.com.
