FDR's Favorite Pecan Pie

Ingredients:
1    Pie crust (9 inch)
1  tablespoon  Butter
1  cup  Sugar, brown
1  cup  Corn syrup
3    Eggs, well beaten
1  teaspoon  Vanilla
1  cup  Pecans, halved or pieces

Directions:
Precook 9" pastry shell for 5 minutes at 425F. Turn down oven to 350F. Cream butter and sugar, add syrup, eggs and vanilla. Mix well, then add pecans. Pour into prepared crust and bake in 350F oven till filling is firm, about 40 to 50 minutes. Cool before cutting.
