Glazed Crisp Sugar Cookies

Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Cream butter and
vanilla until butter is softened. Add 1 cup sugar gradually, creaming

ingredients in fourths to cream mixture. Chill dough 1 hour at least.
Grease cookie sheets. Shape small balls and dip one side in white sugar
and put 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Flatten each ball with a glass.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
