Graham Cracker Cake #1

1/2  C.  Shortening
1/2  Tsp.  Salt
1  Tsp.  Vanilla

-----Add And Cream Well-----
3/4  C.  Sugar

-----Add And Beat Well-----
2    Egg Yolks, (Save egg whites)

2/3  C.  Flour
2 1/2  Tsp.  Baking Powder

-----Mix In-----
16    Graham Crackers, crumbled

1  C.  Brown Sugar
1/2  C.  Sugar
3/8  C.  Milk
3/8  C.  Butter

Cake: Mix in cracker crumbs. Add dry ingredients alternately with 3/4 c. milk. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in. Bake in greased 8" layer pans at 375 degrees for 25 min.. Icing: Boil to soft ball. Beat until spreading consistency. Add milk if needed.
