Hazelnut Cookies

1/2  Cup  Unsalted Butter, (Plus 2 Tbsp.)
1/2  Cup  Sugar
1    Egg Yolk
1  Teaspoon  Vanilla
1 1/4  Cups  Flour
1/4  Teaspoon  Baking Powder
1/4  Teaspoon  Salt
1/4  Teaspoon  Ground Allspice
1/8  Teaspoon  Ground Nutmeg
3/4  Cup  Hazelnuts, ground toasted

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, allspice, and nutmeg. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Add hazelnuts. Roll dough into a log 12 inches long. Refrigerate for 3 hours. Before baking, preheat oven to 350. Slice dough into 3/8 inch slices and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9-13 minutes or until barely golden on top and golden brown on the bottom. Makes about 4 dozen.
