Helen's Paper Bag Apple Pie

Ingredients:
1  9"  pie shell, unbaked
4  lg  baking apples, sliced
1/2  c  sugar
2  tb  flour
1/2  t  nutmeg
1/2  t  cinnamon
2  tb  lemon juice, optional
    ---topping---
1/2  c  sugar
1/2  c  flour
1/2  c  butter

Directions:
Mix apples, sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Put in pie shell. Topping: Combine sugar and flour, cut in butter. Sprinkle over top of pie; be sure to cover well to the crust. Put pie in paper bag and fold over open end tight and secure with safety pin. Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Split paper bag to cool. Source: Helen L. Sell, Stamford (Nebr.)
