Servings: 4
Categories: Cookies / Desserts

Ingredients:
3  cups  flour, spooned into cup
1/2  teaspoon  baking soda
1 1/2  teaspoons  baking powder
1/4  teaspoon  salt
1  cup  butter or margarine
2    eggs
1  cup  sugar
1  teaspoon  vanilla, or lemon & nutmeg

Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. On low speed of mixer cut in butter until mixture looks like coarse cornmeal. In a small bowl, beat eggs, add sugar and vanilla, and beat thoroughly. Blend egg mixture into flour mixture. Chill dough covered with a piece of plastic wrap.

2. Roll to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Bake in 375 degree oven for about 8 minutes. Watch closely, they burn easily. Option: Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet and flatten with a glass covered with a damp cloth. Sprinkle with sugar before baking.
