Old Fashioned Banana Upside Down Cake

Ingredients:
    -----GLAZE-----
1/3  c  Melted butter
1  c  Brown sugar
1  sl  Ripe banana
    -----CAKE-----
1 1/2  c  Flour
1 1/4  c  Water
1  tb  Vanilla
3/4  ts  Baking soda
1/2  ts  Baking powder
1/2  ts  Salt
1/3  c  Shortening
2  ea  Eggs
1 1/2  ea  To 2 cup mashed banana
    -about 2 bananas

Directions:
For glaze mix together brown sugar and melted butter until it makes a sauce and pour into bottom of a small tube pan. Arrange the sliced bananas in the sauce. Combine the flour, sugar, mashed bananas, sour milk, vanilla, baking soda, baking powder, salt, shortening and eggs and pour on top of the brown sugar sauce and bananas. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour, or until the center tests done. Turn out of pan onto serving plate immediately. Cool and serve. NOTE: To sour milk, add 1 tablespoon white vinegar or lemon juice to 1 cup milk and let stand 5 minutes.
