Pecan Pie Squares

3/4  cup  Butter or margarine, softened
3  cups  Flour
1/2  teaspoon  Salt
1/3  cup  Sugar

1 1/2  cups  Sugar
1 1/2  teaspoons  Vanilla
1 1/2  cups  Corn syrup
4    Eggs, slightly beated
3  tablespoons  Butter or margarine, melted
2 1/2  cups  Pecans, chopped

1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease jelly roll pan. Beat butter, flour, salt, and sugar in large bowl on low speed until crumbly. (will be dry). Press firmly in pan. Bake about 20 minutes or until light golden brown.

2. Mix all filling ingredients except pecans in large bowl until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour over baked layer; spread evenly. Bake about 25 minutes or until filling is set. Cool completely.
