Shortening (half butter)
2 teapoons peppermint
Green food coloring
Heat oven to 375. Mix shortening, sugar, egg & flavoring thoroughly.
Stir in flour, salt & coloring. To shape shamrocks, roll 3 small
balls (1/4 tsp. dough each); flatten together with fingertip into
sharmrock shape; shape stem & attach. Sprinkle with green sugar.
Complete cookies one at a time. Bake 9 minutes.
