Spiced Stainedglass Cookies
Sm spiced gumdrops, snipped
Butter, at room temp.
Mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, and gumdrops. In a lg
bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg. Add flour
mixture alternately with cream, blending well after each addition.
Divide dough in half. Shape each half into a roll 2" in diameter.
Wrap in waxed paper. CHILL OVERNIGHT.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. Cut rolls in 1/4"
slices with a sharp knife dipped in hot water. Place 1/2" apart on
prepared cookie sheets. Bake 12 minutes or until golden. Remove to
rack to cool.
Makes 80 cookies (I guess, but I got 103!).
