Best Ever Pie Dough

5  c  all-purpose flour
1  t  salt
2  c  crisco shortening
1  lg  egg (mixed with enough
    water to make 3/4 cup)

I can guarantee that the bottom crust will be as flaky as the top crust. It's a BIG hit around here! Try it, it's SUPER flaky... Mix together the flour and salt; cut in the shortening until it resembles tiny peas. Add enough water to the egg to make 3/4 cup of liquid (I used COLD water). Add to the flour mixture and blend until dough holds together. The recipe didn't say to chill the dough but I did anyway.. habit. Not only is this crust SUPER FLAKY but it's VERY easy to work with. I've never achieved a finer crust. Try it, TRUST ME, it's wonderful! This recipe is suppose to make 3 double pie crusts, I'm not sure. I got one double pie crust & made 12 small apricot tarts with the rest of it. By KKBG35A RUTH BURKHAR
