Butter or margarine 1
cup
Sugar 1
Egg 1/4
cup
Light molasses 2
cups
Flour 2
teaspoons
Baking soda 1
tablespoon
Ground cinnamon 3/4
teaspoon
Ground ginger 1/4
teaspoon
Ground cloves 1/4
teaspoon
Salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In large bowl of electric mixer, cream butter, sugar, egg, and molasses. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. Add to butter mixture. Form dough into small balls. Place 1-1/2 to 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake until done, 10 to 15 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.
