cream cheese,

Directions: 1.
Preheat oven to 350F.

Mix shortening and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add and beat eggs into mixture, one egg at a time. Add flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Beat all well. Add vanilla and butternut flavoring. Beat mixture well. Pour into two greased, floured cake tins.

Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes. Cool cake layers on racks for at least 5 minutes.

Frosting: Let the cream cheese soften before mixing. Mix all ingredients well. Frost the cake between the layers, on the sides and top.
