Cheese Crust Apple Pie

    pastry for 2 crust pie
1/3  c  grated american cheese
    or sharp cheddar cheese
1 1/3  tb  butter
1  t  nutmeg or cinnamon
6  cups  sliced apples, (6 to 7)
1 1/3  tb  butter

When rolling out top crust, sprinkle with grated cheese. Dot with butter. Roll up pastry like a jelly roll, fold ends to center; fold again in middle, and roll out. Filling: Mix together sugar and cinnamon (or nutmeg). Add apple slices and mix thoroughly. Line pie pan with bottom crust. Pour apple mixture into lined pie pan. Dot with butter, cover with top crust. Bake at 425 until crust is nicely browned and apples are cooked through, about 50 to 60 minutes. Serve warm. Lilli Beach By KKBG35A RUTH BURKHAR
