Cranberry Blueberry Pie

Author/Submitted by:
Servings: 8
Categories: Berries / Desserts / Pies & Pastries

Ingredients:
1/2  small  orange
2  cups  cranberries, fresh or frozen
2  cups  blueberries, fresh or frozen
1 1/4  cups  sugar, (1 1/4 to 1 1/2)
1/3  cup  flour
2    9 inch pie crusts
2  tbsp.  unsalted butter, cut into bits
    milk for glazing
    sugar for sprinkling

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 F.

2. Coarsely grind orange in blender or processor. Combine this with cranberries, then mix with blueberries. Toss this mixture well with sugar and flour. Spoon into prepared pie shell. Dot butter bits on top. Adjust top pastry to fit, pressing down gently to release air. Seal and crimp sides. Brush top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Cut steam vents on top crust then place pie on a cookie sheet (this controls drips and spills).

3. Bake 40-50 minutes or until crust is golden brown and berry juices begin to bubble. Let cool 15 minutes before serving.
