Elbert "pop" Robeson's Pecan Pie

Ingredients:
1    unbaked pie shell, (9")
1  cup  sugar
1  cup  dark corn syrup
1  stick  corn oil margarine
4    Eggs, room temperature
1  teaspoon  vanilla
1  cup  pecans, whole or broken

Directions:
Cook syrup,, sugar and margarine until it arrives at a bubbly boil. Remove from heat. In large mixing bowl, beat eggs well. Beating continuously, add syrup mixture. Add vanilla and pecans. Pour filling into unbaked shell. Bake pie resting on a cooky sheet. Place in a preheated 400 degree oven for 35 - 40 minutes. Cool on a cake rack.
