German Breakfast Cookies

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons shortening

4 eggs

2 cups sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon cloves

2 teaspoons soda

1 Dash salt

2 cups buttermilk

4 cups oatmeal

4 1/4 cups flour

Directions:
Cream shortening (Crisco), eggs, sugar. Stir in cinnamon, cloves, soda and salt. Stir well and add buttermilk, oatmeal and flour. Take a spoon and put on cookie sheet. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
