Halepaska's 7-Minute Icing

Author/Submitted by: Halepaska's Bakery, Victoria, Texas, Submitted by Carolyn Cloe (c4@groupz.net)
Servings: 1
Categories: Desserts / Frostings

Ingredients:
3    egg whites
    vanilla
    salt
1/4  cup  corn syrup
1/4  cup  water
1  cup  sugar

Directions:
Using an electric mixer, beat medium stiff 3 egg whites, a few drops of vanilla and a small pinch of salt. Bring to a full boil corn syrup, water, and sugar. Pour boiling syrup into egg whites while beating at high speed. Beat 4 additional minutes. Ice cake while icing is still warm.

This frosting goes with the Halepaska's Losvelight Chiffon Cake recipe. It will be good on other cake recipes as well. This recipe appeared in the Victoria, Texas Advocate newspaper in July 1997. The Halepaska's made my wedding cake in 1959. It was beautiful and very tasty.
