Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:
1/2  cup  butter, softened (1 stick)
1/2  cup  Crisco
3/4  cup  granulated sugar
3/4  cup  light brown sugar, packed
2  large  eggs
1  teaspoon  vanilla extract
2 1/2  cups  flour
1/2  teaspoon  salt
1  teaspoon  baking soda
1  cup  chocolate chips
1  cup  macadamia nuts, chopped

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cream the butter and Crisco until creamy. Next add both sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time and vanilla. Sift the flour, salt and baking soda together; add to the butter mixture by tablespoonfuls. Stir in the chocolate chips and mac nuts. Drop by the spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 6-7 minutes. Cool on wire racks. Yields between 3 1/2-4 dozen. Me ke aloha, Mary Source: Mary Spero, family recipe
