sifted flour 1

soda 1
teaspoon
salt 1
cup
shortening 3/4
cup
granulated sugar 3/4
cup
brown sugar 2
eggs 1
teaspoon
hot water 1
cup
nuts 1 1/2
packages
chocolate morsels 2
cups
oatmeal 1
teaspoon
vanilla
Directions:
Sift flour, soda and salt together; cream shortening and sugar; add eggs
(beaten), and 1 teaspoon hot water. Add flour mixture. Mix nuts, chips
and oatmeal together and add to mixture; add vanilla. Drop by
teaspoonfuls; bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 84.
