Shortening 12

Sorghum molasses 2

Eggs beaten 1

Baking soda sifted 3
c
All purpose flour sifted 1/4
ea
To 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2
ts
Cinnamon 1/4
ea
To 1/2 teaspoon allspice 1/3
c
Water
Directions:
Cream together sugar, shortening and sorghum. Add eggs and beat well.
Add sifted baking soda, flour, salt, cinnamon, allspice and water.
Chill the dough overnight, roll out dough and cut with cookie cutter.
Brush tops with egg white. Bake at 350 degrees on greased cookie
sheet for 10-12 minutes. Cookies may also be dropped by teaspoonful
on cookie sheet and flattened with bottom of drinking glass which has
been greased then dipped in a mixture of sugar, spice and a little
flour.
