apples,
medium-tart

cup
brown sugar 1
tablespoon
lemon juice 1
cup
light sour cream 2
eggs,
lightly beaten

tablespoon
vanilla 1
piece
salt 1
pie shell,
9-inch
1/4
cup
butter or margarine,
softene
1/4
cup
sugar 1/4
cup
almonds,
sliced
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Peel and core the apples; thinly slice. In a large bowl, combine the apple slices, sugar, lemon juice, sour cream, eggs, vanilla, and salt. Mix well and set aside. Bake empty pie shell for 5 minutes, then fill with apple mixture and bake for 35 minutes. Meanwhile, mix butter or margarine with sugar and almonds until smooth. Set aside. Remove pie from oven. Spread the topping on pie and put back in oven for 20 minutes. Remove pie from oven and let cool on rack before serving. Makes 8 servings.
