Applesauce 1/2

Butter or margarine

Grated carrots 1

Chopped walnuts
-----FROSTING----- 3

Cream cheese,
softened

Sifted confectioners' sugar 2

(to 3) Applesauce
Directions:
Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and spices in large mixer
bowl. Add applesauce and butter; beat 2 minutes at medium speed,
scraping bowl and beaters occasionally. Add eggs; beat 2 minutes.
Stir in carrots and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 9-inch square
pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes, until wooden pick
inserted near center comes out clean. Cool; frost with CREAMY APPLE
FROSTING: Beat cream cheese. Beat in sugar and applesauce until
smooth.
